Year 6 Classes

Welcome to Year 6

We are Drake Class and we have had a fantastic start to the year. We have all settled well into Year 6 and are setting a great example to the rest of the school. Throughout the year we will be learning about some fantastic topics including Blue Planet, Adventures in Asia, World War 1 and Crime and Punishment. As well as this, we will get a chance to develop our Maths and English skills and become amazing scientists. We will be able to try out a range of sports, get the chance to create some phenomenal artwork and enjoy many more exciting adventures. This is our last year at Swingate and we want to make sure that it is the best one yet!

We are so excited to be in Year 6 with Miss Kemp. We are looking forward to new learning, including our amazing topics: Blue Planet, Asian Adventure, World War I, Crime and Punishment. Throughout these topics we will use our many skills from history, geography, design technology and art to help us discover more and to think about the impact of some of these areas on our lives.

In Columbus Class, we learn together, sharing ideas and by trying our best. Our learning shows all the skills and knowledge we have learnt throughout our time at Swingate so far. Columbus love competing against themselves and others at Times Table Rock Stars and reading our favourite books each day.

This year will be our best yet!

I’m Miss Rokosz and I have the pleasure to be part of our big family that is Swingate Primary School. This is my 4th year teaching Kingsley class and I can’t wait to share our forthcoming topics: Blue Planet, Great War, Crime and Punishment and a new one – Asian Adventure. The children looked well-rested and very eager to implement our school motto Believe, Learn and Achieve into their daily routine. What a fantastic start! As Year 6 is the last year of their primary education, my goal is to prepare the children to become confident and independent pupils; helping them to take an ownership for their learning. I hope that I can inspire my class to find pleasure in reading thanks to which they’ll be able to experience a world beyond their own.

Welcome to Polo class where it’s all about the fun! In Polo class we love reading, writing, maths, history, Jigsaw, art... the list is endless!  We are looking forward to a jam packed year full of excitement and enthusiasm. Our class motto is ‘Yes I Can!’ which we apply to everything we do.‚Äč
