Year 2 Classes

Welcome to Year 2

Giraffes

Giraffe class are always such enthusiastic learners who enjoy using songs to help them learn. They love our active maths warm-ups and really enjoy using the equipment to help them with their maths learning. In English they use their sounds well to help them improve their writing and enjoy using Talk for Writing to help them remember each text. They have been showing such lovely kindness towards each other using their Mind to be Kind lessons and there are many responsible monitors who have important jobs within the class. Giraffe class are really looking forward to learning lots of new things in their upcoming topics. Their teachers and teaching assistants are always very proud of them!

Meerkats

Hello!

My name is Miss Wilde and I am Meerkat Class’ teacher. I cannot wait to teach you all the exciting lessons I have planned for you to enjoy.  Mrs Young works in our class too and loves phonics and doing anything crafty.

I love teaching all the subjects, but my favourite is Maths because I enjoy solving problems and puzzles. I also love History and learning about fascinating people and interesting events that have happened in the past.

I LOVE animals and have been very lucky to be a zookeeper for a day twice - I got to feed my favourite animal penguins both times! I have also been lucky enough to feed elephants, giraffes, pygmy hippos, sea lions, lemurs, aardvarks, mandrills, cheetahs, hyenas and even tigers!

I also love to read and am a huge Harry Potter fan. When I am not at school, I like to bake biscuits and cakes and to crochet toys. I also like to explore new places and my favourite place in the whole world is Australia. I got to stroke a kangaroo, cuddle a koala and go snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef.

I am looking forward to an exciting year with you all.

Parrots

Welcome to Parrot Class where we spread our wide, colourful wings and sour through our learning. In our classroom you will find a wonderful group of enthusiastic and inquisitive learners who are always working hard to listen, learn and achieve. We love to sing, dance and laugh our way through the day, supporting each other and celebrating our achievements whether they are big or small. We love to read, especially in our school library which luckily for us is right next door and we are always very keen to share our learning with adults that visit our room. Our Teacher is Mrs Smith, and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Manchester who have both worked in Year Two for many years. They greet us with a smile every morning and encourage us to be the very best we can be. This will be our first full year in school, and we are going to pass it with flying colours. Big, beautiful Parrot colours. GOOOOO PARROTS!!!!
