Year 2 Classes

Welcome to Year 2

Capybara Class

We are Capybara Class and we have fun learning with Mrs Richards and Miss Clark.

This year, we are so excited to be brave and learn lots of new things. In History, we’ll be learning about the Great Fire of London, the Victorians and about different activists from our past and present. Whilst in Science, we will learn all about different wildlife and their habitats.

In Capybara Class, we love to read and we get to read so many exciting, new books as a part of our learning. These really help us with our story-telling skills and with building different and interesting characters.

Later in the year, we are excited to be giving TT Rockstars a try. We know that we will show our resilience and try our very best!

Everyone is welcome in Capybara Class. Like real capybaras, we are friendly and loyal so we love to look after each other. We are so responsible and fantastic at showing empathy to others by making sure that everyone is happy and included.

We can’t wait to see how much we grow this year!

Puffin Class

Mrs Pennington and Miss Jennings are excited to welcome you to Puffin class. In Puffin class we love being brave and learning new skills! We learn from our marvelous mistakes and understand how they help us grow to become more resilient. We are really proud of all the work we create in Puffin class as we always try our best. Mrs Pennington loves sharing stories that can whisk us off on exciting adventures without even leaving the classroom!

Ocelot Class

Welcome to Ocelot Class!

Miss Thompson, Mrs Stanton and Mrs Holmes are excited welcome you to Ocelot class this year. We are big believers in being part of a team – showing respect, responsibility and empathy. We love to learn new things and try our hardest with everything we do.

In year 2, there are lots of new things to learn about. We challenge ourselves in writing through being authors of narratives, poetry, instructions and recounts. We develop our skills as mathematicians as we learn about time and money. We become scientists as we learn about habitats and materials. We will also develop our skills as artists, historians, geographers, theologists and sportmen…and ‘ocelot more too!

We are ocelots - we are curious, love to explore new things and show resilience in all we do.
